or Feeding Your Demons
Description
Why Do this Process called Chod aka Feeding your Demons?
- Good for creating new beginnings; leads to deeper Self-understanding, increases confidence and greater freedom.
- Helps one to express their perceived wrongdoings (or the wrongdoings of others) as just that. In other words, the process seems to diminish the drama, the charge, the thrill of battle, dare I say even the hormones which get a rise out of the drama of it all!
- Chod (means to cut through) aka Feeding Your Demons is a Way to calm down/arrest the never ending subconscious verbiage that declares incessantly that this shall “this battle shall never be over!!!”; a transmutation process which allows the one being dissed/shamed to be in power and thereby claim their birthright to take all their energy/power back.
- Chod or Feeding Your Demons is a Way to Transform your “demons” (to resolve and come to peace with both their inner & outer conflicts, anxieties and
fears). - Allows you to honestly hear/see what your inner enemies are: the ones that undermine our best intentions and “feeding or nurturing them” aka
transforming those enemies into allies that actually work for you versus endlessly struggling/battling with them. - In this 5 step process, you do not have to know anything about Tibetan Buddhism to do this Way tho you may experience new feelings/emotions/thoughts; best to be open-minded. Expect the unexpected as what you may experience has been described as revolutionary, liberating and generative of psychological Integration and inner peace.
- Can be beneficial for short-term upheavals such as a breakup or stress of job loss, death of a loved one and many interpersonal problems.
- Results may be immediate, miraculous or more subtle and gradual, and you may gain further insights.
- This practice is done whenever one feels stuck or that “stubborn obstacles,” are in the way. Instead of endlessly trying to remove those obstacles – how bout transforming them and getting them to work for you rather than against you!
- WHAT I DO: Facilitate the 5 step process for you helping you stay on track and keep the energy moving. Also, importantly, I assist you in “holding space,”
via meditating. First developed by a 11th Century female Buddhist Teacher in Tibet, Machig Labdron (Read about Lama Tsultrim’s historical understanding of Machig in her intro, and all things Chod in her book, Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict).
I was very fortunate, to be taught this process by an American ordained Tibetan Buddhist Nun, Lama Tsultrim Allione, the Founder of Tara Mandala (in1993), a beautiful 700 acre retreat center in Colorado (www.taramandala.org) and the author of the 2009 highly acclaimed bestselling book Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict as well as to participate in a radio interview with Lama Tsultrim about her new book. After a 3 day training with Lama Tsultrim Allione in Feeding Your Demons, I was enthused and ready to share this
knowledge and process with my clients as yet another tool of transformation. Today, in 2024, I find this process more relevant than I did in 2009. I am making it available to those who seek a Way to Transform their Demons (to resolve and come to peace with both their inner and outer conflicts, as well as to cease chronic emotional and physical issues such as anxieties, panic attacks, obsessions and fears).
