Stop and Smell the Roses
9/25/25
Hello, thank you for joining me Elizabeth Rose, your hostess of this Whole Brain Podcast, designed to assist you in your daily creations.
Ok here we go, folks. Episode number 6, Stop and Smell the Roses Segment 1. The theme of this podcast is “Fear & Faith.” In the first segment we’re gonna look squarely in the eye, this thing called fear, because there’s so much of it! My goodness; there’s so many things to be afraid of. My challenge to you is that I expect you to be really intelligent and to imagine what energy your will need to transmute your fears into faith. People also equated the word faith with love, trust, courage and they equated fears with mental agitation; that the stress of fear that is created and you’ve heard the word fear porn – it’s like, yea, we can really stir up the fears by using our mind alone. I don’t feel like I really need to go into detail about what fears are… I would like to bring in the sound bed music for my quotes now. I have a Divination card that I pulled for all of us to look at about fear and I also have a wonderful reading from Inna Segal about fear. She’s very much l like Louise Hay remember her, from a long time ago? So, the music sound bed is Martha Reich. And Martha is an award winning singer songwriter, certified music practitioner, Martha Reich. She is a Santa Fe based singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist. She has performed around the world and shared the stage with Melissa Crabtree, Consuelo Luz, the Reverend Horton Heat and others as well as opening for Kate MacLeod, and performing at the Sundance Film Festival. She’s originally from New England was she called to music when she relocated to Santa Fe in 1999. I know you hear a lot of Santa Fe. Well it really is an extraordinary place and has attracted extraordinary people. This song is called The River from her award winning 2018 release called Brave Bird. It’s a wonderful, song. So here is the sound bed by Martha Reich. You will hear cellist Michael Kott in the back ground. Lovely, man. He brings great vibes to this music. Here’s a Soothing sound from Martha called The River.
The first of the readings that I have for you from the Divination Chakra Wisdom Tarot Guidebook And the card that I pulled about fear. Very interestingly I got the Five of Coins. If anybody know about Tarot; that will tell you something ~ but of course every one has their own take on the Tarot, and this deck is no exception. This is what Tori Hartman has to say about five of coins. “The Chakra message is there are times when we must leave behind what we manifested which at one time was what we desired. We can outgrow something and know it is no longer for our highest good, without it or us being bad. This card indicates reflecting on what you have created and perhaps offers a new way of seeing who you really are. Take time to energetically evaluate if where you currently are, is where you want to be. There are times when it is wise to walk away. There is no harm in leaving. Remember, it is enough, if you simply do not want what is being offered. It is enough to say no to what you do not want, even if it suited you at one time. Now I’m going to quote from The Secret Language of your Body by Inna Segal. It’s kind of rough and tough. Again, put on your Divine Intelligence cap and really try to imagine what energy we transmute fear into faith, love, trust and courage and not mentally agitate you further. It is a good description of fear. And she does offer a good exercise at the end of this. “People fear their future based on their past experiences. Fearful people are capable of betrayal, lies, prejudice, treachery, blame, rejection, harm and violence Fear locks a person into negativity, creating shock, anxiety, stress and worry. It can also inhibit change in progress, as many people feel comfortable with what they know, and fear of change makes them stuck where they are ~ afraid to move forward. Fear controls, paralyzes and imprisons. It prevents people from taking action, from trusting themselves and achieving their goals. It sabotages people efforts by constantly creating setbacks, so that they feel powerless. Fear also creates a sense of separation and vulnerability and concern that someone else has power over us. Fear impairs judgment, clouds thinking, and limits even blocks our ability to love and experience peace and joy. Fear contributes to many health conditions, (and I will just name a few, such as:) ulcers, urinary tract infections, venereal diseases, tumors, cancers, insomnia, sinusitis, sciatica, and back pain.”
Here’s the process that Inna offers to release fear. I love this. “Place your hands on the part of the body where you feel fear most intensely. Breathe into this area for a few moments, while allowing any emotion to rise to the surface with little resistance. Relax your hands. Say, Divine Healing Intelligence, using the orange-red flame of purification, Please dissolve all fear, anxiety, worry and powerlessness. Help me release feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, betrayal and trauma. Help me to find a blessing in every challenging situation and to focus on the best possible outcome. Thank You.” This Exercise will help you to bring back feelings of love and empowerment. That’s from Inna Segal’s book The Secret Language of Your Body.
Alright, so we’re gonna segue into Martha’s other song that I chose for this segment, Stop and Smell the Roses. To remind you Martha Reich is an award-winning, Santa Fe based singer
songwriter and multi instrumentalist. She has performed around the world and is often compared to Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez as you will hear in this song from 2022, Star Seeds. And to add a little background to this song, it was inspired by the experiences of one man’s life. His sense of not feeling understood and accepted as an artistic intuitive, led to a period of depression and addiction, until he discovered his soul healing through a path of spirituality. Martha’s hope is that this song, of heartfelt collaboration, will touch those that feel a connection to this real life story and bring hope, healing and knowing that they are not alone. Martha is often joined on stage and on recordings by long-time collaborator, cellist extraordinaire, Michael Kott. You’ll hear him in this song, Star Seeds. I was personally blessed to have Martha play at my Mom’s Memorial in 2016. It was such a blessing to be graced with her presence as well as her husband, Gregg Braden. You will hear his flute contribution in the song God’s Eyes ~ that will be heard In Segment 2 of this Podcast. And though this song,Star Seeds is a bit somber, I feel it is very high frequency, and beautifully and honestly captures this time that we’ve been through, and it lovingly embraces our fears and depressions and yet allows for faith to enter and repurpose our existence. Remember Martha’s music is available via iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, Pandora Radio, SoundCloud, ReverbNation, and on her website, marthareich.com. And now to Star Seeds
Lyrics to Star Seeds
I’m addicted to love and lust
soothe my dreams with magic and dust
and all that sparkles in the sky
It took me awhile, to love my sweet child
but now that I do, she’s my indigo blue
And I say deep in your soul
you’re perfectly whole
as beautiful as a tree
And I hear him playing my songs
telling us all along
you and I are just, just star seeds
And we were born pure
we were born pretty flowers
we were born to fly to the sun
and find our magic hour
Yes I knew how to run
and I knew how to hide
shoot myself in the arm
hurt so bad I wish I could die
And now I just want to win
this war with the blues
cause I’ve been there before
and this time, please don’t let me lose
Cause I’ll plant trees in the woods
past the rocks and the streams
climb desert mountains
follow moon dreams
Just let me thank her
for all that’s she’s done
I think she’d be proud of me
look how far that I’ve come
Don’t know how she saw me
pull me up from the crowd
Don’t know she heard me
I guess I was crying, crying out loud
I’ll grow trees in the sand
and pretty flowers wherever I am
to show you how I love you
the best that I can
show you how I love you
best that I can

End Part I

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee
09/25/23
Ok folks, here we go, Episode number 6; our theme is Fear and Faith. We’re doing Segment 2, Wake up and Smell the Coffee ~ primarily on faith. We did the first segment on fear ~ there is so much to be said. This is a Whole Brain Podcast. We are taking the making of your daily creations up a notch.
I did do a card pull on this episode on faith from the Chakra Wisdom Tarot Guidebook by Tori Hartman. I did much to prepare for this card pull and 3 cards flew out of the deck. So I got the 4 of coins, the Hierophant and the 10 of swords. So, the 4 of coins is a lot about holding on versus letting go and to help us let go, cause I believe this is the main message of this card is that if you feel stuck, reframe your reality and let go of what you think is yours. You can even throw it up, so to speak, throw it upwards to the Universe (not throw it up) to be repurposed, If you are again, feeling stuck. So the second card, the Hierophant ~ I want to save that for last. I want to go to the 10 of swords, which in most tarot is about you have reached the end. You may be feeling very exhausted or depressed; the 10 of swords in this Guidebook, and that is what I like about it is that it does reframe much of the cards in a more positive light. So if you are feeling cornered at all, you are in a position now where you can rebuild, and you can come back and you can trust your gut. It seems that faith requires a lot of trust as well. Well guess what? You have a lot of trust on your side and you can expand your intuition, and in fact, please do. And enhance your spiritual integrity. You may never ever ever prayed in your life, well this might be a good time to pray and whom are you praying to? I’d recommend that you pray to the Universal Consciousness to a Higher Power that is Greater than Yourself and trust that there is One. You are being invited to rejoin your life and know that healing has begun. The Hierophant, speaks to calling in this Higher Power and seeking spiritual knowledge.
Again, it may be for the first time in your life, you may pray. I want to turn to this quote. Inna Segal’s book The Secret Language of Your Body: The Essential Guide to Health and Wellness, and her little section on faith, I thought was very intelligent. Here’s her description of faith. “When we have faith, we tune into the unseen, mystical world we live in. We believe without needing to touch or physically see the results. There is an inner knowing, that assures us that help is on the way. When we have faith, we also have courage to follow our dreams and make them come true.
Think about what you would love to experience, but have been afraid to take a step towards. In other words, too afraid of letting go, too afraid to take that leap of faith. Maybe you need more spiritual integrity ~ you need to beef that up a little bit! To take that Leap of Faith. Inna says ~ say “Divine Healing Intelligence, fill me with your deep, magenta ray of Faith. Allow the Spirit of wisdom, courage and Divine love to surround and uplift me. Help me to believe in myself and to develop my ability to courageously deal with challenging situations while still having faith that I am loved and protected. Awaken, the clearest pure intentions in me, so that I can use my gifts and abilities for the greatest good of all. Help me to have faith and pray for divine intervention even in the darkest circumstances. Show me on a daily basis, how having a little kindness and faith can move mountains and transform lives. Thank you.” That’s from Inna Segal I want to move into the music here. Martha’s song, God’s Eyes from Peace Harvest, which also features the flautist, Gregg Braden, who is her husband and he is featured in the song God’s Eyes from the album Peace Harvest. Martha also uses the words, courage, strength and love instead of fear. To me that embodies the energy of faith as well. You can get Martha’s music from her website, marthareich.com. and you can listen to her music on SoundCloud, iTunes, Reverbnation, and other such places on the web, on the internet, so just take a look. Alright here we go folks, Enjoy. Lots of Love. Thanks for joining me, Elizabeth Rose. It is my hope that this whole brain podcast has assisted you in your new daily creations, and I hope it has wiped away any heavy sands which have fallen across your eyes and seduced you into a long, long sleep. Time to wake up now!
God’s Eyes Lyrics
I see history repeating itself
I hear the people crying for help
I’ve witnessed what weapons of hate and ignorance can do
and I feel the thunder and the lightning
striking us in two
I hear the sirens singing in the middle of the night
telling me in their own language
things are not quite right
and I feel the battle going on inside my own head
but there is no running from this river running red.
And where do we find the courage
to make it through these tears
And how do we find the strength
to love instead of fear.
And I’ve seen the rainbows appear out of the clouds
and I hear that whispering voice inside the maddening crowd
But I will never forget that promise to not give up this fight
for peace, for justice, for the stillness of the night
And where do we find the courage
to make it through these tears
And how do we find the strength
to love instead of fear.
One thousand or maybe more fireflies
dancing into God’s Eyes
One million or maybe more butterflies
this is what our prayers look like when they reach the other side
They go dancing, they go dancing into the dark
they go flying, they go flying into our hearts
they go dancing, they go flying, they go dancing into the dark
This is what our prayers look like when they reach our hearts.
